November 19, 2009

HardcoreSounds.net conducted an interview with guitarist Jason Hook of Los Angeles metallers FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH prior to the band's November 16, 2009 concert at Nosturi in Helsinki, Finland. Watch the chat below.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH performed last night (Wednesday, November 18) at John Dee in Oslo, Norway as a four-piece after the band's guitarist Zoltan Bathory was taken ill.

"Dying Breed", the opening track to FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's latest album, "War Is The Answer", has just been released as a digital single. It also features "Succubus", a bonus track previously unreleased and taken from the sessions for "The Way Of The Fist", the band’s debut album. A demo version of the song found its way online a few years ago and, due to popular demand, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH recently remixed and remastered it.

"War Is The Answer" sold 44,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 7 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD follows up FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's 2007 debut, "The Way Of The Fist", which has sold more than 350,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"War Is The Answer" was released in the U.S. on September 22 via Prospect Park Records. The CD was produced by the band and Kevin Churko (OZZY OSBOURNE, IN THIS MOMENT),and was mixed by Randy Staub (METALLICA, MÖTLEY CRÜE, NICKELBACK).
